This position requires on-call hours. Status is PRN/Casual, no guarantee for hours. Will be paid $2/hour to be on-call. If called in for a transport, will be paid an hourly wage.

JOB SUMMARY: Working together with the EMS team in safely transporting patients to a medical facility.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Load patients safely into the ambulance and transport patients to another medical facility.
• Clean and restock ambulance after a transport to be ready for another transport.
• Performs a variety of activities in the organization.
• On Call is required.
• All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license. Clean driving record. Must be 21 years or older. CPR certification. Complete the Emergency vehicle operation course (EVOC), once hired.

• EXPERIENCE: No experience required; training will be provided.

• ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL MOTOR SKILLS: Ability to operate computer systems, talk in person on the telephone, hear in person and on the telephone, vision for close work. Be able to operate motor vehicles is a safe defensive manner. Be able to drive at night.

• INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Ability to interact appropriately and professionally with patients, clinic staff, physicians, hospital staff, and the general public.

• ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Be able to Lift 75lbs. Requires setting, walking, standing, ability to be mobile, some bending, stooping, stretching and lifting, Requires eye and hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires ability to move freely within the hospital setting to conduct job duties.

• ESSENTIAL MENTAL ABILITIES: Ability to process information and to effectively communicate with others.

• ESSENTIAL SENSORY ABILITIES: Must be able to visually receive and interpret nonverbal communications and to hear spoken communication with others.

• EXPOSURE TO HAZARDS: Limited exposure to chemicals.
