Important Note:
Job Summary:
-Responsible for assessing learning needs and learning performance/competence of the MA/LPN role in assigned clinical area(s).
-In collaboration with key stakeholders, the Clinical Educator-MA designs, develops, implements, and evaluates education using best available evidence to meet identified learning needs of staff.
-Acts as a collaborative partner, educational leader, facilitator, instructor, subject matter expert, change agent, mentor, consultant and advocate.
Job Responsibilities:
-Support onboarding, competency, regulatory education, professional development, and just-in-time education for staff.
-Partner with System Educators to identify and develop role-based and/or specialty-area education.
-Deploy Froedtert Health System (FH) education/programming at the local/specialty level.
-Teach system, site, role-based and department/specialty -based classes/courses as assigned.
-Adapt job practices in alignment with the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD): Scope and Standards of Practice Third (3rd) Edition (2016).
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
-A minimum of Three (3) years of recent applicable clinical practice experience as a Medical Assistant or LPN.
-Experience in an informal or formal leadership capacity (example: Preceptor, Lead, Governance Council Chair, leader, etc.).
-Proficient in Microsoft applications and computer skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-Experience in applying adult learning principles and instructional/curriculum design.
-Experience in precepting or training in a clinical setting.
Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
In addition, individuals must meet one (1) of the following combinations of education and experience:
-A graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program (Associate, Diploma or Certificate).
OR
-A graduate of a non CAAHEP or ABHES Medical Assistant program (Associate, Diploma, or Certificate) or Military Medic/Corpsman training.
-Three (3) years of formal on the job Medical Assistant experience.
OR
-Currently possess and are in good standing with at least one (1) of the following credentials:
--Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
--Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
--Assessment Based Recognition in Order Entry (ABROE).
--CCMA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
-American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent.
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
-Certification through the AAMA and/or an equal certification board or certification.
