Why Youll Love This Position We are seeking an entry-level systems and database administrator. In this position, the team member will be applying technical skills of: understanding core technical concepts of software and database management, basic coding of SQL, computer and database security, as well as troubleshooting. The focus of this position is in Oracle with opportunities in MySQL, Teradata, and Postgres, on prem and in the cloud. A motivated, organized, detail-oriented work ethic is a must. High-level types of work include installs and upgrades of dbms software and its components, performance tuning, database design, database monitoring, and data security. Qualified team members working at this level should have a strong desire to learn. With the desire to learn, training opportunities offered and technical mentors on the team you will become successful at supporting these products listed above.
- Authorization to work in the United States is a prerequisite of employment. The Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
- The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.
This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting Services, State Data Center (SDC)..

- Troubleshooting general database issues.
- Creating and Maintaining database objects.
- Maintaining database security.
- Other entry Level System and Application Database Administration Tasks.

- Ability to learn and apply technical related concepts.
