Overview:

A leading biopharmaceutical organization is seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support site-wide safety, health, and environmental programs.

Pay: $90,000 Annually

Middlesex County, NJ

Top 3 Requirements:

• 5+ years of EHS experience in pharma or biotech industries
• Demonstrated experience managing environmental, health, and safety programs
• In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations and compliance protocols

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain comprehensive EHS programs, including industrial hygiene, biosafety, ergonomics, hazardous waste management, and fire protection
• Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and government regulations (OSHA, EPA, cGMP)
• Manage third-party vendors on-site for safety and environmental services
• Develop and deliver EHS-related training and internal communications
• Oversee cleanroom gowning requirements and participate in shutdown planning and decommissioning processes
• Apply established EHS standards and methodologies to control operational hazards and enhance workplace safety
• Analyze incidents, track compliance metrics, and recommend improvements in risk mitigation and pollution prevention strategies
• Assist engineering and operations teams to resolve safety deficiencies and ensure alignment with EHS best practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field
• OSHA industry training and hazardous shipping knowledge required
• Experience with regulated environments (e.g., cGMP, EPA, OSHA)
• Strong understanding of MSDS documentation and safety equipment
