Job Description

Pioneer Tank Lines is a small, family-owned transportation company specializing in transporting hazardous materials and hazardous waste. The safety of our employees and the public is of the utmost importance to us, as reflected in our FMCSA safety scores. Our drivers are home weekly to enjoy time with their family and friends.

Our operations span all 48 states, with the upper Midwest as our primary area. We run both varied and dedicated lanes with minimal brokered loads. Most outbound freight is preloaded, and most deliveries are drop and hook. Loads returning to MN are usually brought to our yard and delivered by our local drivers. We maximize drive time whenever possible. Sundays out are needed 1 to 2 times per month. Our fleet of Kenworth trucks is serviced consistently. Most freight is loaded on 53' van trailers, but we also have end dump, tanker, and roll-off opportunities for the right driver.

*Position requirements*:

* Safe driving record
* Minimum of 1+ years of Class A driving with Over The Road experience.
* Hazmat and Tanker experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate if time allows.
* 13 speed experience is preferred because only have a few automatics.
* Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to read and write English.
* A thorough understanding of FMCSA/DOT regulations.
* Willingness to learn the specialized hazardous materials/waste carrier regulations.
* Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

*Our Class A OTR drivers receive the following*:

* An average of $104K per year with the potential to earn more.
* Most weekly resets are at home at the end of the week.

* An average of 2800 to 3500 miles per week, with the opportunity to run more.

*Summary*

As an OTR CDL Class A Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting freight across long distances while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations. This role requires strong driving skills, including proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles and experience with various trailer types such as refrigerated and flatbed. You will report to the Fleet Manager and are expected to communicate effectively with dispatch and clients. Your ability to load and unload freight efficiently, along with your valid CDL A and endorsements, will be essential in meeting delivery schedules and maintaining high service standards.

*Responsibilities*

* Operate and drive a Class A tractor-trailer safely and efficiently over long distances.
* Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, including maintaining a valid CDL A license and necessary endorsements.
* Load and unload freight, securing cargo to prevent damage during transit.
* Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and functionality.
* Communicate effectively with dispatch and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
* Maintain accurate records of driving hours, mileage, and cargo.
