Job Summary Under moderate supervision and reporting to the Loan Documentation Team Lead, the Loan Documentation Specialist is responsible for preparing and reviewing loan documentation for the Bank's commercial, real estate, and consumer loan portfolios. This role primarily utilizes the LaserPro loan documentation system to generate accurate and compliant documents for basic to moderately complex loan transactions. The specialist ensures all documentation aligns with credit approvals, adheres to the Bank's credit policies, and complies with applicable laws and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Analyze entity documentation for borrowers, guarantors and collateral grantors to verify good standing and to ensure loan documents are properly prepared and authorized.
- Verify that all approved loans conform to the Bank's policies and all pertinent governmental laws and regulations. This includes verifying that all Credit Authorizations evidence appropriate approval levels based on the customer's total commitments, loan amount and loan type.
- Interact with appropriate lending unit personnel and review the approved Credit Authorization to determine the loan documentation requirements.
- Prepare loan documents based on loan due diligence and the approved Credit Authorization, primarily using the LaserPro loan documentation preparation system.
- Assist with ordering title policies.
- Assist with ordering flood determinations.
- Support coordination of the issuance of all trade Letters of Credit via correspondent banking relationships.
- Accountable to understand and ensure regulatory and policy compliance with state and federal requirements including the following (but not limited to) Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, Community Reinvestment Act, OFAC Regulations and Fair Lending and all applicable bank and government regulations.
- Attends training and maintains a basic knowledge of procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing financial institutions, as they apply to your position and job responsibilities, with an emphasis on the BSA/AML/CIP, Consumer Privacy, Regulation CC, Information Security, Bank Protection Act, FACT-Identity Theft, Information Technology and GLBA.

Minimum Qualifications These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. Education/Training/Experience: Required: High School Diploma; and minimum 3 years related experience in loan documentation preparation and closing, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be well versed in all lending laws and regulations and LaserPro documentation software
Desirable: Experience in all phases of documentation preparation with emphasis on commercial and real estate lending.
Knowledge: - Good working knowledge of personal computers and software
- Proficient in the use of LaserPro documentation software
- Basic knowledge of loan accounting systems, functions, and procedures
- Bank marketing, operations and other daily banking functions to maintain understanding of customer management and product delivery in general
- Banking laws, policies and procedures, service, and credit products
- General accounting and mathematics
Abilities: - Detail oriented, able to multi-task and highly organized
- Able to read and comprehend legal documents, procedure manuals and governmental regulations and apply same to job responsibilities as needed.
- Enter data in personal computer, use a calculator; operate telecommunications equipment and other office equipment.
- Use word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and database software applications, as well specialized financial systems software
