At EdgeTech, we are all about supplying a user experience that is both intuitive and reliable. Our apps are intended for use by both experienced users and customers that simply use them as tools and do not want to know or understand how they work. We’re looking for a mobile application developer to help us implement and maintain apps for both Android and iOS. Our ideal mobile app developer will also maintain a cloud-based database that stores and shares users’ data. We need a solution-oriented thinker, that can work alone on the development and maintenance of the mobile apps and work closely with sales and hardware engineers on a regular basis. The ideal engineer must adhere to the highest-quality standards and create the best user interfaces.

Objectives of this role

• Translate the customers’ needs to take the form of a mobile application, through reliable coding
• Design the next-gen apps with high-quality mobile application development
• Manage the entire evolution process of the apps, from assessing customers’ requirements to execution and ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate with sales and hardware engineers within the team to deliver the best solutions.

Your tasks

• Perform periodic testing and improve the usability of the mobile app
• Build the design interface as per the client’s needs
• Fix bugs and other performance issues as an iOS and Android mobile developer
• Develop new features as a mobile software developer
• Collaborate with our hardware engineers and interface with outside users of our database.
• Communicate clearly with sales staff to understand their exact requirements

Required skills and qualifications

• BS in computer science, information systems, or a related field
• Prior experience working as a mobile application developer, or in a similar job role
• Comfortable using Amazon Web Services (such as the AWS CDK), Android Studio, Xcode, Visual Studio Code, Bitbucket CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Node.js, and Auth0.
• Manage cloud services account with Amazon Web Services
• Manage app accounts for the Google Play Store and Apple App Store
• Comprehensive knowledge of mobile application development

Preferred skills and qualifications

• A portfolio of all the previous mobile applications created and released
• A problem-solving approach to working as a mobile app developer
• Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multi-task
• Knowledge of Swift, C#, Kotlin, Java, XML, HTML, Typescript, Python or other similar programming languages
