Our client is a reputable and fully accredited IB World School in Wuxi is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and western-trained Primary Music Teacher to join their dynamic team. Position Overview

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the students’ musical understanding and appreciation through engaging, concept-based learning within the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). You will lead whole-class music instruction, guide ensemble opportunities, support school performances, and contribute to a rich performing-arts culture across the campus.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver high-quality, inquiry-based music lessons aligned with the PYP framework

- Develop students’ musical skills in listening, singing, performing, and composition

- Plan and lead school events such as concerts, assemblies, and productions

- Collaborate closely with the Arts team and classroom teachers

- Contribute to curriculum design and ongoing programme development

- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

- Engage in regular professional growth and IB training

Requirements

*Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Music Education or a related field

*Recognized teaching qualification from a western country (e.g., PGCE, BEd, QTS, state teaching license)

*At least 2 years of full-time classroom teaching experience, preferably in primary/elementary settings

*Previous IB PYP experience desirable (training provided for strong candidates)

*Strong musicianship and ability to teach a range of musical concepts and instruments

*Excellent communication, collaboration, and intercultural skills

*Commitment to child safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusive learning practices

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:

Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Experience:

2 Years

Must be western trained (USA, Canada, UK, Scotland, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand & South Africa)

Must be a native speaker of English

Prefer candidates with international experience

Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted

Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted

Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:

A salary   CNY (Chinese Yuan Renminbi) per month based on experience and qualification, 10-25 % Tax is applied
