Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Project Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating the successful launch of new customer programs within the manufacturing environment. This role ensures that new processes, parts, and customer expectations are introduced and implemented on time, within scope, and in compliance with quality, safety, and cost standards. The Project Manager will act as the primary liaison between customers, internal teams, and suppliers to deliver seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of new customer start-up projects from concept through production launch.
  • Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time introduction of new processes, parts, and products.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and other departments to coordinate all aspects of the launch.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for customers during start-up phases, ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and met.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, tracking progress and identifying risks or roadblocks.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings to review project status, resolve issues, and drive accountability.
  • Oversee process validation, first article inspections, and trial runs to confirm readiness for production.
  • Monitor project budgets, resource allocation, and cost controls.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and company procedures.
  • Provide leadership in continuous improvement activities related to new customer launches.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 5+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment (metal fabrication, automotive, aerospace, or similar preferred).
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing customer-facing projects.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and process introduction.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools/software (MS Project, ERP/MRP systems, etc.).
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
