Secondary Music Teacher 

Our client is a selective, English medium high school caters for Chinese students from aged 14-19, who are highly motivated and learning focused which makes it a delight to teach them. The school currently enrols over 700 students and is seeking outstanding and inspirational educators to join them in the next academic year.  

The school provides students an academically rigorous, challenging and rewarding international curriculum, designed to offer the very best preparation for entry to universities and colleges worldwide. Cambridge and Pearson IGCSE and A Level courses are taught across three and four year programmes alongside internally-designed programmes and a co-curricular offering of over 80 clubs, societies, and teams.

The school is currently looking for a Secondary Music teacher to join them in August 2026. To apply, you must have:

**Fully qualified teacher with degree in relevant subject + QTS

**Teaching qualification

**Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in similar role 

**International experience preferred 

**English native speaker

**Flexible to adapt into new culture 

The school is situated in its own  building with modern facilities and provides students with the best possible learning environment. Specialist facilities include science laboratories, information and communication technology suites, library, multi-purpose hall, drama studio and art and design rooms. There is also a modern music suite with a computer lab for composing, a rehearsal room for music practice and two well-equipped classrooms.

About Suzhou

Suzhou is a city of two halves. Downtown, old Suzhou is full of canals, stone bridges, pagodas and is famous for its ancient gardens dating back to the Song Dynasty. But it is also a modern city with good roads, rail links, an ever expanding underground metro system and modern apartments. On the east side of the Old City is Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), where the school is located. Despite the name, this area also has canals, is very green with wide roads and plentiful parks. The lake in the centre is great for walking, running or biking around. Most foreigners live in this area of the city where the infrastructure is excellent.

The high speed trains mean Shanghai is only half an hour away and you can get to Beijing in about 5 hours, making it a great location for exploring the rest of China. Nearby airports are in Wuxi and Shanghai Hongqiao (45 minutes) while Shanghai Pudong airport is approximately 2 hours by car.

Minimum Application Requirements

Qualification:

Minimum Qualification Requirement: M.Ed, B.Ed or a relevant Bachelor's Degree with a Teaching Qualification

Experience:

Must be a native speaker of English

Prefer candidates with international experience

Teachers with a degree but no teaching qualification are NOT accepted

Experienced teachers with no qualification are NOT accepted

Non-western trained teachers who have worked in an international educational institute before are NOT accepted

Remuneration Package

Salary Range:

A salary   CNY (Chinese Yuan Renminbi) per month based on experience and qualification, 10-25 % Tax is applied
