Technical Writer, Senior

Responsibilities

• Identify and describe complex concepts and processes, verbally, written, video, digital and in graphic forms.
• Provide resources for the team to understand and follow complex concepts and processes.
• Represent the company and maintain its performance levels within this position.
• Develop comprehensive documentation that meets organizational and military standards.
• Obtain a deep understanding of the products and services provided by the organization to translate complex information into polished and professional content.
• Maintain databases of technical information produced by the organization’s technical staff.
• Work closely with team leads from a variety of labs, stakeholders, and senior organizational leadership.
• Independently gather information from subject matter experts to develop, organize, and write content for test reports, stakeholder reports, technical documents, etc.
• All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Must be skilled in the following areas:

• Must demonstrate a professional demeanor.
• Must have a technical background and able to write about technical findings like a test engineer but provided and organized written document that technical and semi-technical can understand.
• Experienced in writing test reports.
• Experienced in writing manual and SOP’s.
• Experienced with SharePoint and able to monitor version control.
• Must be able to understand policies and procedures in order to provide resources and documentation to the team.
• Must have demonstrated experience in compiling comprehensive engineering test reports and packaging them for distribution to Government and Industry stakeholders.
• Must be able to work well independently and in a team setting.
• Must posses strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Must be a self-starter, motivated to take minimal instruction and proceed to task completion

Clearance:

• Must have a DoD secret clearance.

Education & Experience:

• 7-12 years’ of direct relatable experience as described under responsibilities.

Location:

• Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland.
• Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Schedule flexing is available with the PM’s approval, but this is an onsite position.

Travel:

Only upon need.
