About the Role:

As a Test Engineer 1 in the durable goods manufacturing industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products through rigorous testing and validation processes. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing test plans that align with product specifications and industry standards. Your work will directly impact product performance, safety, and customer satisfaction by identifying defects and areas for improvement early in the development cycle. Collaborating closely with design engineers, production teams, and quality assurance, you will help drive continuous improvement initiatives. Ultimately, your contributions will support the delivery of durable, high-quality products that meet both regulatory requirements and market expectations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Basic understanding of testing methodologies and quality assurance principles.
  • Familiarity with durable goods manufacturing processes and product lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in using test equipment and software tools relevant to product testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly with durable goods.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as ISO 9001 or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with automated testing systems and data acquisition tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and product specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement detailed test plans and procedures for new and existing products.
  • Execute functional, performance, and reliability tests to validate product designs against specifications.
  • Analyze test data, document results, and communicate findings to engineering and production teams.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report defects or inconsistencies, recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Maintain and calibrate test equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of test documentation, including test cases, reports, and protocols.

Skills:

In this role, your technical skills will be applied daily to design and execute comprehensive test plans that ensure product quality and compliance. Analytical skills will be essential for interpreting test data and identifying root causes of defects, enabling you to recommend effective solutions.
