Kisinger Campo & Associates, Corp. (KCA) has an opening in our Pensacola office for a Roadway Engineer with 2 to 6 years of experience. This full-time position requires a strong foundation in engineering design principles and concepts, FDOT design standards, FDOT plans preparation procedures, understanding of roadway geometrics and roadside safety, and solid communication skills. This position will require the engineer to possess strong MicroStation/Geopak & ORD plans production skills; prior MicroStation and AutoCAD experience is desired. Responsibilities include designing and producing plans for transportation-related projects from preliminary to final design including specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages. Work at this level requires the candidate to be a proactive, self-starter that is willing to work with a team of engineers on projects throughout Florida.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required
  • 2-6 years of engineering related experience
  • EI Certification
  • MicroStation or AutoCAD experience a plus
  • Basic roadway geometric design knowledge is required.
  • Knowledge of FDOT FDM, Standard Plans, and Florida Greenbook criteria is a plus

Roadway Engineer Responsibilities:

  • You will work under the direction and guidance of Roadway Project Managers and Senior Engineers
  • You will work collaboratively with other KCA associates
  • Provide technical support for transportation engineering projects
  • Build a strong foundation in highway design principles, and concepts
  • You will gain a thorough understanding of roadway geometrics and roadside safety design
  • You will learn MicroStation/Open Road Designer/AutoCAD
  • Build solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a self-starter with desire to learn
  • Will be designing and producing plans and estimates for transportation projects
  • Types of projects could include new roadway alignments, widening, milling and resurfacing, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, highway safety, intersection, and interchange design
